Strengthen your fundraising, brand awareness, and name recognition in the community by being media savvy.

Hear strategies first-hand from media personality Nancy Alvarez, and nonprofit practitioner Andrae Bailey, on how to work effectively with the local media. Participants will learn the basics of working with print and television media, the fundamentals of putting together quality news stories, and dealing with a media crisis. You will also be given tips to increase brand awareness of your nonprofit with potential donors and the community at large.

What you will learn:

  • The importance of working with the media in fundraising.
  • How to communicate your mission through television and print media.
  • Putting together a newsworthy press release.
  • Building relationships with the local media.
  • Working through and capitalizing during a media crisis.

Instructor: Andrae Bailey, CFRE, Executive Director, Central Florida Commission on Homelessness

 

Andrae Bailey, CFRE, is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness; a Central Florida based nonprofit that works with community leaders to create and implement a cross sector, regional plan to solve homelessness. Andrae has worked for over 15 years as a nonprofit leader and fundraiser and has worked with hundreds of the top companies in philanthropic giving in America. He has served the community through nonprofit charities and churches and his experiences with poverty at a young age left him with a passion for those hurting and abandoned by society. Andrae has worked for, and consulted with, nonprofits throughout the United States. His goal is to help charitable organizations take practical and strategic approaches to develop programs that impact their local communities.
